How to Use the Meeting Types Analytics Widget

The Meeting Types Analytics widget in Workalizer breaks down meetings by type (internal, recurring, occasional, with external participants) and shows both meeting count and total duration for each, with period-over-period comparison. Use it to spot meeting overload, optimize recurring meetings, and balance internal vs external time.

Who Benefits

  • Team Leads and Department Managers: To see how much time goes to internal vs external and recurring vs ad-hoc meetings.
  • HR and Operations: To evaluate meeting culture and time spent with external clients or partners.
  • Executives: To track meeting efficiency trends and time allocation across the organization.

Widget Access

Go to Apps > Meet tab. The Meeting Types Analytics (Meetings Types) widget appears as a table in this view, often alongside the Google Meet Usage Report and Meeting Statistics Overview. Use the Org Unit and Period filters at the top of the Apps > Meet section to scope the data.

Detailed Functionality

The widget shows a table with rows for meeting categories: Internal, Recurring, Occasional, With External Participants, and an All Meetings summary row. Columns typically include Meeting Count and Duration (Hours), with percentage change and trend arrows versus the previous period. You can hover or click on values to drill into the list of meetings that make up that total. Use it together with Planned vs Ad Hoc Meetings and Top Recurring Events and Meetings for a full picture of meeting mix.
